This videotape demonstrates the Nagoya strategy for dealing with the difficult conditions of hilar cholangiocarcinoma. Multiple transhepatic biliary drainage is necessary in the preoperative diagnosis and treatment of hilar cholangiocarcinoma and preoperative portal vein embolization is useful to increase the curability and safety of major hepatectomy for advanced hilar cholangiocarcinoma.
