Collectively we train in a silo, Law Enforcement, fire, EMS and hospitals. Rarely do we train together in sequence and in choreographed unison prior to a real event. The Mass Casualty Injury (MCI) Drill was designed as a point-of-injury to definitive care by incorporating treatment, transport, ED stabilization and finishing with OR damage control surgery if indicated of 35-45 patients. Three sequential days were run to illicit improvement in execution and policy development for all areas pertaining to successful management of an MCI event. This was a joint effort from multiple local emergency response agencies, Rocky Vista University Military Track, multiple regional law enforcement agencies, 3 bomb squads, FBI and a regional Level II Trauma Center..
