An 82 year old female with no surgical history and a past medical history of hypertension and mild diverticulosis on previous colonoscopy presented with abdominal pain. She was found to have peritonitis with normal vitals and labs. Her CAT scan showed diverticulitis with a small amount of free air and free fluid. We performed a Laparoscopic Peritoneal Lavage with endocatch bag removal of stool and placement of JP drains followed by interval elective laparoscopic sigmoidectomy. She tolerated the procedures well and had a favorable outcome.
