This video illustrates the operative mgmt of a patient with Mirizzi syndrome Type 1. The patient suffered a benign obstruction of the common hepatic duct by stones impacted within the cystic duct or neck of the gallbladder causing jaundice. Differentiation from Type II disease and gallbladder cancer is discussed. Ten such patients have been successfully treated at our institution from 1992 to 2002.
