This colorectal course addresses the indications, credentialing and performance of laparoscopic colectomy. Colorectal surgery experts discuss the role of laparoscopy in treating benign disease and colorectal cancer. Emphasis is on technical performance of the procedure and focus on identifying and combating problem areas for right and left colectomies. Also included is an overview and discussion of approaches and strategies for avoiding and overcoming intraoperative challenges.
Objective: To understand the indications, credentialing and performance of laparoscopic colectomy, as well as the latest imaging, surgical techniques and research initiatives for the comprehensive care of the cancer patient.
